Skydiving

Okay, I'm not a very smart blogger, so I couldn't figure out how to re-order my pictures. So to read this photo essay, scroll down to the bottom picture and work your way up to the top. I promise I'm going to get help in learning to post better blogs. Enjoy.

The eagle has landed! This was quite an experience for me. Not one that I say was fun, but a very exciting experience. (It wasn't fun because of the motion sickness and my ears wouldn't pop and therefore very uncomfortable.) I feel good that I accomplished such a task, one that was something I set my mind to and followed through with....

Coming in for a very smooth landing.

When my parachute finally opens, it's a much slower fall and I finally stop screaming. I could look around and see the valley, but not too much, it made me motion sick.....yuck.

I have about 40 pictures of me with this same look on my face. It's one where I'm in a constant scream because it is so exciting...... We jumped at 12,500 feet above the earth - what a view!

I wasn't as scared as I look!! I was very calm until the moment I had to let go of the bar at the top of the door opening. Then I thought, "what am I doing?" But, I just crossed my arms and fell out of the plane as I was suppose to, with my instructor securely fastened to me!!

Here we are, walking to our airplane. This is my favorite picture, it looks like we are astronauts walking to our space ship!!

Here's the story, about a lady turning 50 years old and wanting to try something out of her comfort zone!! I decided that as a teenager I wanted to skydive and never did it, so what better time than now to do it. We went to Big Bear Lake for a Reid family reunion so I decided to look for a diving school near Big Bear Lake. I found one in the city of Perris, near San Bernadino. I was to chicken to do a solo jump, so I signed up for a tantem jump. My dive master was Jim Wallace, co-owner of the skydiving school.

  2. You are definately much braver than I, just jumping off a cliff or a bridge takes me 20 min. to get up the courage to do so. I don't think anyone could pay me to jump from a plane, instructor or no instructor. We loved seeing you and Uncle Kevin at the reunion.
