We went to Palm Springs for a few days over Spring break. Kevin likes to play tennis with his friend Doug O'Dell and the two of them wanted to go see a professional tennis tournament. So off to Indian Well, CA we went. I think the stadium held around 14,000 people, that's a lot of people watching a little ball go back and forth! We went on Saturday, which was the semi-finals and got to watch the 4 top men's players in the world. As far as tennis matches go, it was fun!!
While we were there, we enjoyed great food (our favorite was a French/Belgium restaurant: Pomme Frite), did some hiking in the desert (Joshua Tree National Monument & a canyon in Palm Springs), saw the desert in bloom (some cactus in bloom and lots of other bushes and such), lounged around the pool for a few hours and just relaxed.
Hey, we have been working on an addition to our house and some new flooring in the existing house. The changes are done, I just need to get some furnishings for the new room. But, wanted to share our new floors. We now have hardwood floors in our entryway, kitchen, dining room and the new family room. We put new carpet in the living room, computer room, hall and both bedrooms. It all looks very nice and the carpet is so soft! We are loving it. 
Very fun vacation! I can't wait to see all the changes in your house. You'll have to have an "open house" once you get your furniture. ;-)
