Memorial Day

The month of May went by way to quickly. Unfortunately I didn't carry my camera around very much, so not many photos of all the happenings! We did make our annual trek to the Lincoln Memorial cemetery to clean-up and decorate the grave site of Kevin's parents. This is the first memorial day since his mother passed in January. We were happy to take this opportunity to visit her grave site and talk about her with Alyna. Alyna loved her great-grandma Jones. Always giving grandma a kiss, hug and big smile.
I also took the opportunity to remember my dear Aunt Hazel who passed way on Mother's Day this May. She was a remarkable lady and one that I loved very much. She had been ill with a blood disease that turned into leukemia this past summer and she fought the cancer fight very well to the end. I was grateful for the opportunity to go to Roseburg and visit with her for a few hours the week prior to her passing. What a memorable visit and one I will cherish forever.
I'm sorry I didn't get to visit the grave site of my father this memorial day. I miss that we don't have the Tamzen & Harley Adams reunion on memorial day any more. That was a great way to get me to Bunkerville in May and to pay my respects to my father. He too was an amazing man who taught me much and left me with a wonderful legacy. On his grave stone it says "A life that was led with others in mind". That was his motto. Hope we can all follow in those footsteps.

  1. I miss going to Bunkerville to visit Grandpa's grave as well. We are moving within Arizona because I still have a year left in school. We are moving because the house we are renting is foreclosing July 12th, we have until then to figure out exactly what place we are going to move into. We may move to the slightly bigger town where school and Bobby's work is. It's kinda of weighing what will cost the least in the long run (i.e. paying more for a place to live vs. paying more for gas).
