Summer Fun

Summer fun finally got started in July!!!  We had a fun visit from our niece, Sadie Reid.  Her dad, my brother David, came to Oregon with Mason for a soccer camp, so Sadie came along.  Sadie got to stay with us for 5 days or so, seeing a few of the sights in Oregon.  Our first stop was the zoo, then off to Oaks Park the next day.  Alyna and Noah came along for the fun, giving Sadie someone to do the rides with!  (Aunt Nancy did the small roller coaster, Ferris wheel, large slide and merry go round...nothing too fast!)

Noah's favorite was the green car.....the big slide and the train.  I think he also liked the miniature golf.

Alyna loved the scrambler and tilt a whirl!  She loves to spin!  She also loved trying to win a stuffed toy on the arcade games and drinking a Slurpee.

Sadie, well she loved anything fast.  Unfortunately for her, she had to do the fast rides by herself.  The rest of us were too chicken!  She did the large roller coaster, this music thing, and some other loop ride that went upside down, all by herself and loved it!

On July 13th it was off to Fort Steven's state park for family camp out.  Emma loved riding her bike, listening to music on the IPod and also playing games on the IPod.  (Thanks Sadie for sharing your IPod)
Sadie and Ava playing a round of cards....a little down time after the long bike rides and exploring the beach.

Ethan enjoyed holding little Hudson.  Great cousins!

Mason got a new bike while we were camping.  All the other big kids were on their bikes and he was feeling left out....so Dad went and got him a bike!

What a face!  Hudson loves to make this cute little scrunchy face and did it often.  What a great little camper he was.
Have chalk?  Making chalk outlines of each other just for fun.  Here is Emma tracing little Mason.
Then, just two weeks later the girls turn 7 years old.  Stopped in for a little present opening and then birthday dinner at Outback.  Love these girls!
Found these handsome Jones boys just hanging out on the couch....they are so alike.
On August 14th Grandma Reid (Nancy's mom) came to visit for a week.  We took her out to Canby to see the Dahlia farms.  Noah and Alyna went along for the trip.  It was a cool morning, so Alyna had to but on a "lower level jacket" to cover up her cold legs.  To give Grandma Reid's knees a break Nancy pushed her in the wheelchair.  That was a workout on the grass path!

One of my favorite Dahlia's was the size of a Frisbee!

Next we found this little train "Sparky" to take on a ride of the Flower Farmers garden.  The garden was a little sad, & the train a little old....but the kids thought it was fun!

The train stopped at a little petting farm where the kids got to get in the pen with the bunnies.  They loved petting them and feeding them right out of their hands.

There was also a small mule, 2 goats, chickens, turkeys and ducks.  Fun adventure.....

We also had a weekend visit from my sister, Vera, and her daughter Melanie.  Melanie had her baby, Dylan, with her and we all enjoyed this sweet little guy.  It's always fun to have visitors and show them around the beautiful Northwest.  It helps us remember we live in such a beautiful place and we are blessed to live here.

Summer is drawing to a close.  Just two more weeks and the kids will be back in school, Nancy back at work and Kevin back at work.  Kevin and I do have a little vacation coming up in a week or so.  We will take a little camping trip to Sunriver and the MacKenzie River.  I think there will be fishing, tennis, river rafting, bike riding, food, games and music......at least that's what I've been told!
